Go on an Indonesia island hopping adventure amongst the beautiful Karimun Jawa islands, before heading to one of the famed wonders of the world: Borobudur temple. This Java tour finishes in the sultanate city of Yogyakarta. Known for it’s cosmopolitan vibe and endless food options.


  • Day 1: Arrival Semarang

    Upon arrival in Semarang airport obtain your Indonesian visa if you haven’t already. Clear Immigration and Customs and proceed into the arrival area. You will meet your private driver for your transfer to your hotel. The transfer from Semarang to Jepara takes about 2.5 hours driving. As the boat departure schedule to Karimun Jawa is in the morning, we strongly recommend staying overnight in Jepara so you won’t need to rush in the morning. Please note that the boat schedule can be changed anytime due to weather conditions. Check-in at the hotel and rest of the day is free at your leisure.

  • Day 2: Karimun Jawa

    After breakfast you will be driven to Jepara harbor for your boat transfer to the Karimun Jawa islands. The transfer from your hotel to the harbor will take approx. 20 minutes. Upon arrival in the harbor proceed to the waiting room until time of departure. The boat transfer from Jepara to Karimun Jawa takes about 2 hours. Upon arrival in Karimun Jawa, the hotel’s driver will meet you in the harbor and transfer to the hotel for only 5 minutes. Check in, rest and relax. Karimun Jawa Iis located in the Java Sea, north of the capital city of Semarang. It offers a wonderful hideaway. Travellers can enjoy island cruising, snorkeling and ‘castaway’. Karimun Jawa Marine National Park is one amongst seven marine national parks in Indonesia. The Marine National Park consists of 27 islands, of which only 5 are inhabited.

  • Day 3: Karimun Jawa

    Today you will go on a nice island hopping exploration to the east side of the archipelago. After breakfast at about 9 AM you will be picked up from your hotel to go by boat to Cilik Island. The size of the island is only 2 hectares with a wonderful pristine beach where you can have a nice stroll. You will receive snorkel equipment, so you can enjoy the spectacular underwater world. Continue to Tengah Island where you will have a delicious lunch in a local house. After lunch visit Gosong Island. When the water is at low tide, you can stop and stand on this very tiny sand dune island. You will be back in your hotel around 5 PM. In the evening you may enjoy the beautiful view of the stars lighting the sky.

  • Day 4: Karimun Jawa

    Today you can enjoy a free day to totally become relaxed.

  • Day 5: Jepara – Borobudur

    Today you unfortunately have to say goodbye to the beautiful island of Karimun Jawa. The hotel driver will bring you to the harbor by car, which only takes 5 minutes. The fast boat will depart depending on the day either in the morning or afternoon.
    Upon arrival in Jepara, you’ll then depart to Borobudur on an approximately four-to-five hour drive south (depending on traffic and stops) to Central Java toward the ancient Buddhist city of Borobudur. It is the world’s largest Buddhist monument and the largest human-constructed structure in the Southern Hemisphere.

    Once here, check in at your beautiful villa-style resort, overlooking lush paddy fields and in the distance, jungle shrouded Mt. Merapi and the ancient Buddhist Kingdom of Borobudur.
    Settle in and enjoy a relaxing evening.

  • Day 6: Borobudur – Yogyakarta

    This morning in the pre-dawn hours, you’ll head out with your guide to be at famed Borobudur at sunrise. Not only is the mist and lighting at dawn serene, it is also a special time to explore this ancient site before masses of tourists arrive later in the day. Borobudur predates Angkor Wat by 300 years and Notre Dame by 200 years. “Discovered” in 1815, it has been excavated and returned to its original glory. The stone relief panels offer a clear glimpse into Buddhist doctrine and Javanese life 1,000 years ago. You’ll have plenty of time to amble around and through this fabulous monument.
    After exploring Borobudur, you’ll have a little free time to relax and enjoy at the hotel. Later this afternoon you’ll be transferred to Yogyakarta.

  • Day 7: Yogyakarta

    Enjoy the breakfast at the hotel and meet your driver in the morning around 10.00AM to Yogyakarta.

    Your will firstly visit at the Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat (the Palace of Yogyakarta). This walled compound is the heart of the old part of the city and once the palace of Yogyakarta’s sultans. Next visit the Sono Bodoyo Museum, which has an excellent collection of Javanese masks, textiles and puppets.

    Afterward continue for a walking trip at the heritage of Kotagede through the Javanese culture and see the heritages. Historically, Kotagede was the capital of the old Mataram Kingdom that became the center of culture and economy in the past. In this area, you can see the traditional local houses reflecting the combination style of Javanese-Hinduism and Muslim. During the walks you can also experience the batik making where the locals are empowered for their daily life revenue. The famous silver craft and home industries are also lies in this area where you can also see on how they craft the unique creation.
    In the end of trip at afternoon, you’ll have a lunch at the local house with traditional dishes.

    Later this afternoon you’ll be driven to the Prambanan Temple complex. This Hindu temple city was built between the 8th and 10th centuries to honor Shiva and it complements the Buddhist temple city of Borobudur, some 40 kilometers away. 
    Start by viewing Candi Shiva Mahadeva, the largest and finest of the temples of Prambanan. Flanking it are Candi Brahma and Candi Vishnu, and just to the north is Candi Sewu, which you will also have the opportunity to view. Continue to the northern Plaosan group of temples. The site is made up of two larger, identical temples that have been restored, as well as ruins of some 130 smaller stupas and shrines. Finish your exploration of Prambanan with the southern group of temples including Candi Sajiwan.

  • Day 8: Yogyakarta

    Start today earlier this morning around 7.00AM for your today’s trip looking at authenticity of Yogyakarta. You’ll be transported to Beringharjo traditional market located at Malioboro, the famous street in Yogyakarta. The traditional market has been center of economic activity since years ago and its existence has philosophical meaning. The market that had been renovated several times symbolizes stages of human life that is busily engaged in its economy fulfillment and also representing the authenticity of Yogyakarta. Your guide will introduce you to some traditional Javanese snacks sweets called “Jajanan Pasar”. It is note complete until you taste some. Get upstairs and meet the locals selling Javanese herbs, vegetables and daily cooking ingredients then get more inside for a brunch with soto daging, a traditional beef turmeric soup and accompanied with daging empal, slice of beef enriched with the Javanese herbs and continue for visit at batik shops located at the ground of the market. Finish the activity in the afternoon and the rest of day is on your own at leisure.
