Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival Medan – Bukit Lawang

    Upon arrival in Kuala Namu Airport Medan our driver will pick you up and take you directly to Bukit Lawang which will take about 4-5 hours. You will be driving along palm oil-and rubber-plantations on a partially bad road. The hotel in Bukit Lawang is situated on the edge of the jungle.

  • Day 2: Bukit Lawang

    Free program in Bukit Lawang with optional trekking & tubing tours.

    Bukit Lawang is the starting place for trek into the rainforest with a chance to spot Orang Utans & other wildlife. The viewing platform is where Orang Utans can be seen (no guarantee). Every morning and afternoon these primates are fed and it is quite an experience to witness that. Since Orang Utans don’t have any natural enemies they are very curious. Apart from trekking it’s is also possible to combine this with tuning on the river. Or just relax in front of your bungalow and listen to the sounds of the jungle!

  • Day 3: Bukit Lawang – Lake Toba

    After breakfast we drive to Lake Toba via Berastagi and Parapat. On the way to Lake Toba you will visit a traditional Karo Batak village and the Sipiso-piso waterfall. At the end of the day we reach Prapat from where we take the public ferry to the peninsula of Tuktuk. At night the lights of Prapat shine invitingly across the water.

  • Day 4: Lake Toba

    You will have a full day here to explore the beauty of Lake Toba. Lake Toba is one of the many natural wonders of Indonesia. Toba is a perfect place to come, relax and absorb the beautiful pristine scenery. The cool clear water coupled with the relaxed atmosphere and friendly people is what draws visitors to Lake Toba. We offer several different excursions here including biking and a bout cruise.

  • Day 5: Lake Toba – Yogyakarta

    In the morning we drive back from Lake Toba to Kuala Namu Medan Airport for a flight (not included) to Yogyakarta via Jakarta.

  • Day 6: Yogyakarta

    In Yogyakarta (Jogja) a there is a variety of activities: make a city-tour by becak (cycle taxi) and stop by the famous kraton of the sultan of Yogyakarta. Or visit a wayang kulit and batik factory, to see how these artforms from Jogja are manufactured. Jogja is a perfect city to shop around for authentic souvenirs. Jogja is also close to the great temple complexes of Borobudur and Prambanan and a visit to either of these temples is not to be missed.

  • Day 7: Yogyakarta – Solo / Sukuh

    In the morning we drive to your next destination Solo or Sukuh. Optionally it is possible just to stop by at a local market in Solo and maybe have lunch there or you can go directly to Sukuh without any stops. After checking in at the hotel, there is enough time to explore the beautiful surroundings of Sukuh like the farms of Tawanmangu.

  • Day 8: Tawangmangu / Solo – Malang

    We continue towards Malang, where we arrive in the late afternoon. Malang used to be a popular destination for the Dutch in colonial times. You can still experience the colonial atmosphere in town at the famous Toko Oen.

  • Day 9: Malang – Bromo

    By car we drive to a village to the south of Bromo. Here we transfer to an open jeep to drive through magnificent scenery along the way. We visit a scenic waterfall and eventually we end up in the ‘sand-sea’ surrounding Bromo. We make a spectacular ride to the north side of the volcano. The route we take to show you Bromo that is rarely visited by other tourists, what a unique and adventurous experience!

  • Day 10: Bromo – Kalibaru

    Optionally you can have a very early start in order to catch a spectacular sunrise
    at Bromo’s crater-rim. Waking up far before dawn dawn you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view over the volcanic landscape during sunrise. Often there are clouds hanging in the valley underneath you and only the mountain peaks are visible making you feel like you are standing on the moon. After breakfast we drive to Kalibaru which will take us about 3-4 hours.

  • Day 11: Kalibaru – Ijen / Ketapang / Banyuwangi

    In the surroundings of Kalibarur there are some beautiful sights to be seen. It is possible to participate in an excursion to the cacao, rubber and coffee plantations or there is the optional 2D1N excursion to Sukamade beach to see turtles nestling. Just relaxing and lazing by the pool is also an option! Depending on where you have choosen to stay next the drive to your next destination is only 2 – 2.5 hours today and you can decide when you want to go today.

  • Day 12: Ijen / Ketapang / Banyuwangi – Pemuteran (Bali)

    This early morning you will have a chance to do experience the a memorable trekking to the Ijen Crater in West Java. Within the 20km caldera complex lays an amazingly blue lake. With massive amounts of sulphur coming out of the mountain, this is one of the most acidic bodies of water on the planet. You can see the local miners walk deep in the sulfur clouds to collect hardened sulfur and trek back out often carrying nearly twice their body weight. Breathtaking views from within this active volcano is something you will never forget and most certainly unlike any other experience in the world. In the afternoon we take the ferry to Bali and arrive in Pemuteran in the late afternoon.

  • Day 13: Pemuteran

    Free day in Pemuteran with the possibility to do a snorkeling tour to Menjangan Island or a Mangrove Tour.

  • Day 14: Pemuteran – Ubud

    In the morning we drive to Ubud via a Buddhist monastery & Banjar hot spring. The rest of the day is free at leisure in Ubud. You will spend tomorrow and the day after in this area and we offer a variety of excursions here such as down hill cycling, a herb walk or a cooking class.

  • Day 15: Ubud

    Free day Ubud.

    Ubud is Bali’s artistic heart and the center of cultural events. Surrounded by a beautiful landscape it is easy to see where the artists find inspiration. This is a great place for buying special mementos with many small shops and galleries. For those wishing to know more about Balinese art; a visit to one of the local museums will be of great benefit. Cultural events such as ceremonies, dances and temple festivals occur frequently and you are always very welcome to observe. Ubud has many good restaurants where you can savour a range of foods from simple Balinese-style to sophisticated European dishes.
    Another great treat is a Balinese massage – this is a wonderful experience for both men and women. Near Ubud is the monkey forest, a small tropical jungle where wild monkeys live. On the edge of this forest you can see the fascinating temple of Pura Dalem Agung, temple of death!

  • Day 17: Ubud – Tetebatu (Lombok)

    In the morning we will transfer to Lombok using the fast boat or a short flight depending on your preference. After arrival in Lombok Praya Airport our driver will take you to Tetebatu in app 1.5 – 2 hours. Tetebatu is a small village on the lower slopes of the mighty Rinjani volcano beautifully situated between rice and tobacco fields. On your way to Tetebatu you will visit a local market where you can buy some exotic fruits. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

  • Day 18: Tetebatu – Senaru

    In the morning there is the possibility to do a 3 hr walk through the rice and tobacco fields around Tetebatu. You end in Pringgasela, a village where almost all women know the art of weaving. You will be served a real ‘Sasak’-meal (incl.) and watch the process of songket weaving. In the afternoon, we drive to Senaru in the North of Lombok.

  • Day 19: Senaru – Gili Meno / Trawangan / Air / Senggigi

    The surroundings of Senaru are fertile and lush. It is the starting point of a nice and easy panorama walk guided by an English-speaking guide. On the way you visit villages where its inhabitants still live according to ancient religion and traditions. You will see that the villagers are most happy to invite you in their homes. The walk goes through rice fields and ends at an imposing waterfall. In the afternoon we transfer to Gili Meno / Trawangan / Air / Senggigi at your preference.

  • Day 20-21: Gili Meno / Trawangan / Air / Senggigi

    Free day in Gili Meno / Trawangan / Air / Senggigi.
    During your stay in any of these locations we offer a variety of optional activities to see more of Lombok or the Gili Islands and it’s surroundings.
