Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival Yogyakarta – Borubudur

    Selamat datang di Indonesia / Welcome to Indonesia!

    Upon arrival in Yogyakarta, you will be transferred to your hotel in the Magelang area near Borubudur Temple, this will take around 1.5 hours. Depending on your time of arrival there the rest of the day is at leisure.

  • Day 2: Borubudur / Candirejo

    Today you have the chance see the sun rising between the two glorious volcano’s Mt. Merapi and Mt. Merbabu from Setumbu Hill, whilst overlooking magnificent Borobudur Temple in the distance. You can take breakfast at a small local restaurant called a warung or have breakfast at the Manohara hotel inside Borobudur park (not included). After breakfast you will see the great heritage of Borobudur Temple, the biggest Buddhist temple in the world and listed on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.

    After visiting Borobudur you will continue to a nearby village to see a pottery center and also see the production of tofu. The trip continues to Candirejo village, where the mode of transport is a horse cart (dokar) or a bicycle to explore the rural activities and village life. You will stop at several places to see additional home industries such as krupuk making in a villager’s house and you will also have lunch in this village before driving back to Yogyakarta in the afternoon or stay near Borobudur one more night and transfer to Yogyakarta tomorrow depending on your preference.

  • Day 3-4: Yogyakarta

    Today and tomorrow there is plenty of time to discover the city of Yogyakarta (Jogja) and its surroundings. In Jogja tradition and modernity meet, learn more about the today and historical traditions of this Sultanate or escape in the many charming café’s, restaurant of shopping centers in Jalan Malioboro. There is a wide is a variety of activities that can be done in this city: make a city-tour by becak (cycle taxi) and stop by the famous kraton (palace) of the sultan of Yogyakarta. Or visit a wayang kulit and batik factory, to see how these artforms from Jogja are manufactured. If you prefer the country side over city-life you can experience the Javananese village-life which is within cycling distance from your hotel. Or take a jeep tour on the lower slowes of the active volcano Mt. Merapi.

  • Day 5: Yogyakarta – Ubud (Bali)

    Today you will fly from Yogyakarta to Bali. Upon arrival in Denpasar International Airport Bali our driver will meet you and take you to your hotel in the Ubud where you will stay for the next two days. We offer a variety of excursions here such as down hill cycling, a herb walk or a cooking class.

  • Day 6-7: Ubud

    These two days are spent in Ubud, Bali’s artistic heart and the center of cultural events. Surrounded by a beautiful landscape it is easy to see where the artists find inspiration. This is a great place for buying special mementos with many small shops and galleries. For those wishing to know more about Balinese art; a visit to one of the local museums will be of great benefit. Cultural events such as ceremonies, dances and temple festivals occur frequently and you are always very welcome to observe. Ubud has many good restaurants where you can savour a range of foods from simple Balinese-style to sophisticated European dishes.

    Another great treat is a Balinese massage – this is a wonderful experience for both men and women. Near Ubud is the monkey forest, a small tropical jungle where wild monkeys live. On the edge of this forest you can see the fascinating temple of Pura Dalem Agung, temple of death!

  • Day 8: Ubud – Sanur

    Today you will continue the trip Sanur. We will make some nice stops along the way including the beautiful rice fields of Tegalalang, Royal Temple of Mengwi Empire and the famous sea temple Tanah Lot. Tanah Lot is one of the important directional temples in Bali, the temple is located on a rock just offshore. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.

  • Day 9-10: Sanur

    These two days you can go swimming, snorkeling or just laze on the beach. Sanur is a nice small town. It has one of the longest beach promenades with a paved walkway. Here you will find leisure seekers strolling around, easy going cyclers and many nice places to enjoy a drink and meal while looking out over the sea. In case you would like to see more of Bali we offer several excursions with the possibility to start from Sanur. For both the culturally interested (East Bali Tour), and the active type (Diving & Canyoning). Have fun!

  • Day 11: Departure

    Today is your departure day. Depending on your departure time, the driver will pick you up from the hotel and bring you to the airport.
