Itinerary

  • Day 1: Pangkalan Bun Arrival

On day 1 transfer from Pangkalan Bun to the nearby town of Kumai to board our boat in the afternoon.

The boat (‘klotok’) used for this trip has a closed deck as well as an open one. Mattresses, sheets and mosquito nets are provided (no towels). There is a small bathroom on board with a simple toilet and shower. The pump for the shower has to be switched on with the generator, so it is not the whole day. You can also rinse yourself with water from the river from a ‘bak mandi’ (bucket). Our cook will join the team to prepare delicious meals for you. A klotok has space for 4 persons.
Your simple, yet comfortable private houseboat is equipped with one bedroom (below deck) and a bathroom with cold-water shower. The crew will put a mattress on the deck of the boat at night if you prefer to sleep outdoors and under the stars (mosquito netting provided).
